About the speakers

Michael J. Fagel teaches at the Illinois Institute of Technology-Stuart School of Business, Northern Illinois and Aurora University, Eastern Kentucky University, and the College of DuPage. He has appeared on FOX, NBC, CBS, NPR, NY1 and local media outlets. His book Crisis Management and Emergency Planning: Preparing for Todays Challenges received the ASIS Book of the Year Award for 2013. He has also published the following textbooks: Principles of Emergency Management: Hazard Specific Issues & Mitigation Strategies; Principles of Emergency Management and Emergency Operations Centers; Emergency Operations: EOC Design; and Food Safety Law. He serves as a columnist for several national trade publications.

Marianna A. Perry, CPP, currently a training and development manager for Securitas Security Services USA, Inc., operates Loss Prevention and Safety Management, LLC and is adjunct faculty at Sullivan University. She is a former detective with the Kentucky State Police and was previously the director of the National Crime Prevention Institute (NCPI) at the University of Louisville. Ms. Perry is vice-chair of the ASIS Crime Prevention and Loss Prevention Council and a member of the ASIS School Safety and Security Council. Her recent books are titled, Handbook for School Safety & Security K to 12 and Security for Colleges & Universities.
