INTERVIEWS AND INTERROGATIONS

Effective Measures That Enhance Your Success In Getting The Truth

Stephen Brown, CPP, Director of Corporate Security and Facility Security Officer (FSO) for Burns & McDonnell has been utilizing proven methods of interviewing and interrogations for over 28 years.  In the mid 80’s Mr. Brown was first introduced to the John E. Reid & Associates “Reid Technique of Interviewing and Interrogation” while employed at United Parcel Service as a front line security supervisor/manager.  Within five years, Mr. Brown advanced to an Instructor and then as a Train the Trainer Instructor for these techniques specifically for UPS.  Upon leaving UPS in 1996, Mr. Brown continued his learning in effective communications focusing on interviewing a subject.  These efforts allowed Mr. Brown to develop his ability and to work as a private “white collar” investigator while continuing to build his knowledge of this intriguing art.  Mr. Brown will discuss with our KC ASIS Chapter the basic fundamentals of successful communications when attempting to gather facts, sort these facts into usable analysis to continue your investigation, then how to determine if and whom you may decide to accuse for the allegations at hand.  This is presentation is not meant to be a training seminar. Rather an overview for those desiring to learn these skill sets and where to turn for such professional training.
