March Luncheon - Security Assurance - Managing security in a highly regulated critical infrastructure business

Speaker - Steve D. Baker - Vice President & Deputy Chief Security Officer - State Street Global Security (Boston)
Stephen D. Baker CPP is Vice President, Deputy Chief Security Officer for Global Security. Since joining State Street in 1996 he has held progressive leadership positions within the group. Steve is responsible for the development, implementation, management and maintenance of enterprise wide security systems along with physical security policies & standards that protect company personnel and assets globally. He is responsible for the development and implementation of the strategy for Global Security and works closely with Legal, Risk, Compliance, Information Technology and Corporate Insurance to ensure programs synergies are aligned to meet regulatory requirements and customer needs. Additional management oversight includes Workplace Safety, Travel Security, Executive Protection, Incident Management and Infectious Disease among other areas. Prior to State Street, Steve was the Senior Regional Security Manager for the headquarters area of Digital Equipment Corporation where he held progressive security positions from 1982 – 1996.
Steve also holds the professional designation of Certified Protection Professional (CPP) which is the highest security designation for physical security professionals. Steve is also the 2013 recipient of the Goodman Award from the Boston Chapter of ASIS International for his continuous commitment, contributions and support of the security profession. He currently serves on the ASIS International Leadership Management Practices Council (LMPC) and is the LMPC representative to the Leadership Development Committee of the Chief Security Officers (CSO) Roundtable.
