Presenter Bio: Julia Pearson attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater where she graduated with a BS in Sociology and Criminal Justice and participated in ROTC. She was commissioned in May of 2000 into the United States Army. Julia also holds a MBA with an emphasis in Human Resources and Finance. She served 5 years on active duty and 5 years as a reservist and was stationed in places such as Fort Knox, KY, Fort Hood, TX, Fort McCoy, WI, Camp Virginia, Kuwait, and Camp Anaconda, Iraq. She was medically discharged from the Army in 2007 and achieved the rank of Captain (promotable).
Julia now works for American Family Insurance as the Security Operations Manager responsible for physical security, security technology, and access management. She has been with American Family for 14 years in areas such as Human Resources, Strategy Development, and Customer Experience. While at American Family she started the Veterans and Military Business Resource Group that supports AmFam’s veterans, service members, and their families. Julia is married to Jon Pearson and they reside in Madison, WI with their English Springer Spaniels, Scout and Finn. They love to travel, scuba dive, play volleyball, camp, hike, boat, fish, hunt, read, and spend time at their cabin.
