October ASIS Kansas City Chapter Meeting - Worlds of Fun

Come join your fellow chapter members for an in-person event at Worlds of Fun on Thursday, October 7th, from 11:30am to 1:00pm. This chapter meeting will include lunch and a presentation by the Director of Security for Worlds of Fun, and Greater Kansas City ASIS Chapter member, Raashid Brown. Following lunch and the security presentation, Raashid will take us on a behind the scenes tour of the park security operations as well as a look at the spooky Halloween Haunt decorations and setup! Presentation - Security: Hiring and Recruiting the Next Generation

The Worlds of Fun Security Department has hired, developed and trained thousands of public servants who now serve in different areas across the nation. During our meeting, Raashid will share some of their recruiting strategies, the security and emergency response training they provide, and more. These insights and experiences will help attendees in their current and future roles better hire and train the next generation of security and law enforcement professionals.

Raashid Brown

The chapter is grateful to Raashid for hosting us at Worlds of Fun and sharing some of his experience in recruiting and training. Raashid is a well-presented and seasoned security professional with a keen sense for building networks and leading change. He is a hardworking and community oriented law enforcement professional with leadership experience and training strategically geared to lead and train law enforcement and security agencies in the entertainment industry. His experience and community policing expands socioeconomic backgrounds, races, and nationalities. Prior to his role as the Director of Security at Worlds of Fun, Raashid held law enforcement positions for the Jackson County, Missouri Sheriff's Department and the City of Dallas, TX Police Department. 

Rasshid is a graduate of the Kansas City Regional Police Academy (2009), the Dallas Police Academy (class president, 2013) and the Caruth Police Leadership Institute at University of North Texas Dallas (2017), as well as a published author, "You Are the Greatest Discovery" and “Vessels of Honor.”
