Bio:Freddy Poindexter is an Area Supervisor for G4S Secure Solutions in their Kansas City, Missouri market and has over 34 years’ experience in security and law enforcement. Freddy begin his law enforcement career in 1980 in Paragould, Arkansas where he served as the department’s firearms instructor, field training officer and radar instructor. He was later promoted to Detective Sergeant and for over five years, investigated felony crimes from thefts to homicides. Following his time as an investigator, he transferred back to the patrol division as a shift Sergeant and was later promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and shift commander until his retirement in 2003. After his retirement, Freddy accepted a position with a US Government contractor and was sent to Monrovia, Liberia. He spent the next year working as a member of the International Police Service for the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) helping rebuild the Liberian National Police force in order to restore the rule of law for the country following 14 years of civil war. Upon completing his contractual obligations, Freddy moved to Kansas City in 2005 and started work as an armed security officer for nonprofit medical school where later he was asked to become the director of security for the university’s proprietary security department. While serving as director, Freddy managed the purchase and installation of the university’s first security cameras and card access system, later adding a campus wide alert and emergency notification system. He authored an emergency operations plan for the university and provided training at student orientations. His hobbies include cooking competition barbeque, old cars and riding motorcycles.
