Word From the Chairman

I hope this newsletter continues to find all of our chapter members, friends, and families safe and healthy. Spring is here and I’m sure we’re all looking forward to warmer weather. We have had really good attendance at the monthly chapter events so far and we’re excited for what’s next.

The chapter board is very grateful for the time and efforts of the volunteers who have formed the showcase planning committee and have contributed a major effort in helping plan the 2023 Physical Security Showcase, namely:

Past Monthly Chapter Meeting

Our March chapter meeting was held on March 2nd at Corporate Woods in Overland Park, KS on the topic of Building Management Technologies and Public Safety. We enjoyed a presentation by Jennifer Willett, a Wireless Business Manager for Wesco International. Many thanks to Wesco for sponsoring this chapter meeting.

Upcoming Monthly Chapter Meetings

April

Plan to attend our April chapter meeting to hear a presentation on Security and Premise Liability on Thursday, April 6th at 11:30 a.m.

May

Our May chapter meeting features a guest speaker from Titan Protection who will present about remote video monitoring technology and services on Thursday, May 4th at 11:30 a.m. Many thanks to Titan Protection for sponsoring this chapter meeting.

June

Our June chapter meeting will be the 2023 Physical Security Showcase and Luncheon held on June 8th. Details are in the section below.

July

For summer break, we will not hold a chapter meeting in the month of July.

August

Our August chapter meeting will be a security presentation at the Kansas City Art Institute on August 3rd. More details will be provided in the coming months.

September

The chapter will not hold an event in September and will encourage all members to attend ASIS GSX in Dallas, TX (virtually or physically) from September 11 – 12. Details can be found HERE.

October

Our October chapter meeting will be held at Garmin International’s headquarters on October 5th. More details will be provided in the coming months.

November

November chapter meeting will be held on November 8th and will include a speaker from the Veterans of Foreign Wars. The location is to be determined and more details will be shared in the coming months.

December

Our December event will be a casual networking event held at Crown Center. The exact date is still TBD but will be early December.

2023 Physical Security Showcase and Luncheon

The showcase committee has been planning the Greater Kansas City ASIS International Chapter's annual Technology Showcase. While a “Save the date” email has been sent, you will see the official registration email in the coming weeks. Please share with your other colleagues.
