Presentation: Community Support & Talent Acquisition for the Separating Veteran

Speaker:  Rod Cox

Learn how the Command & General Staff College Foundation works and what they do to support Service Members and their families.  Hear about the Army’s existing programs as well as the Foundation's newly proposed programs for mentoring and job placement assistance.

Roderick M. Cox, Colonel, US Army (retired) served in the US Army for over 32 years with multiple combat, peacekeeping, humanitarian, and operational tours of duty in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Europe, and the United States. His service included duties as the Chief of Staff of the Combined Forces Land Component Command overseeing all ground combat operations in the Middle East and Afghanistan, as the Director of the US Army’s Combat Studies Institute, as Chairman of the Department of Leadership and Strategy at the US Air Force’s Air War College, and as the Foreign Liaison Officer for the Secretary of Defense  After retiring from the Army, Cox served as a District Director for the US Small Business Administration where he managed the Agency’s programs and services for over 4 million citizens in Missouri and Kansas.  He is a consultant providing personal leadership and management advice and assists with career guidance and job placement; is a publisher and author; speaks at civic, professional, and educational organizations; and is a philanthropist and volunteer assisting organizations that support veterans, children, and the homeless.  He currently works with the Command and General Staff College Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) educational foundation that provides resources and support to the US Army Command and General Staff College.  He has served on the Greater Kansas City Federal Executive Board, the State of Missouri Economic Development Board, and the American Legion Executive Committee and currently serves on the University of Missouri Alumni Association Board and as the Commander of his local Disabled American Veterans Chapter.  Cox holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Missouri and a Master’s degree from the US Army War College.
